India boosts Aeronautical strength with Indigenous missiles
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Sunday handed over the Banned Military Type Certificate (RMTC) for the indigenous Astra Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile and HTT-40 (Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40) aircraft at the 15th Aero India International Seminar in Bengaluru. Seth also released guidance materials for extending the life of aircraft and systems. Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO Dr Sameer V Kamat; Dr G Satheesh Reddy, former SA of RM and Chairman of AESI; Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Tejinder Singh; And others were also present during the event.
"Today, at the 15th Aero India International Seminar organised by DRDO and AESI, I handed over the Restricted Military Type Certificates (RMTC) for Astra BVR and HTT-40 and issued guidance material for extending the life of aircraft systems that will enhance India's aeronautical capabilities. Notably, the Ministry of Defence said in an official statement that the 15th edition of the biennial Aero-India International Seminar began in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Saturday.
According to the ministry, the two-day seminar has been organised by the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with the Aeronautical Society of India (AESI) as a prelude to Aero India 2025, which will be held in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14.
The statement said the seminar is a flagship event in the global aerospace sector. This year's theme is 'Aerospace Technology of the Future: Challenges in Design Verification', which highlights the discussion and deliberations on emerging trends in aerospace technology of the future and the challenges in military airworthiness and certification: design and testing. International delegates participating in the event are Airbus Defence & Space from Spain; Collins Aerospace, GE Aerospace, Martin-Baker, MBDA and Rolls-Royce from the UK; Rafale Advanced Defense Systems from Israel; And SAFRAN are from major foreign companies such as France.
