Their total value is estimated to be around Rs 200 crore in the international market. On this great success, Amit Shah appreciated the team of Narcotics Control Bureau and congratulated them. The action is part of the NCB's crackdown on drug trafficking.
Amit Shah lauds Narcotics team
Amit Shah wrote on the social media platform X, "India has crushed the drug cartel with zero tolerance. A major breakthrough has been made in seizing very high-grade cocaine, ganja and cannabis gummies in Mumbai and arresting four people. This is a concrete step towards realizing PM Narendra Modi's dream of a drug-free India. Congratulations to the Narcotics Control Bureau team for this huge success. Earlier in January, a team of the Narcotics Control Bureau seized a parcel from an international courier agency in Mumbai, in which a large quantity of cocaine was concealed. The parcel was to be sent to Australia. Later, during investigation, it was also found that another part of this consignment was hidden in Navi Mumbai.
NCB raids several locations
The NCB conducted raids at various places and recovered a large quantity of drugs. Preliminary investigations revealed that some quantity of the seized contraband was brought from the US to Mumbai and was being routed to a number of receivers in India and abroad through courier/small cargo services and human carriers. The agency says that the entire syndicate related to drugs is operating from abroad. Another shocking thing that has come to light is that the arrested accused involved in this drug smuggling racket had no personal contact with each other. They use changed names during drug trafficking. The entire smuggling was being done in a planned manner, with each accused having a limited role and doing their part, making the network even more complex. So far, four people have been arrested in connection with the case. Further investigations are underway to identify the links of the drug syndicate.
