BJP ends AAP's 10-year rule in Delhi with a decisive win

After 27 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to form the next government in the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT-Delhi), having exceeded the majority threshold of 36 in the 70-member Ranchi assembly, thus ending the 10-year rule of the Aam Aadmi Party. The BJP last held power in Delhi from 1993 to 1998.

BJP leader Parvesh Sahib Singh secured victory in the New Delhi Assembly seat, defeating AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal by a margin of over 4,000 votes. In the same period, Congress's Sandeep Dikshit garnered 4,568 votes in March.

Atishi, the Delhi Chief Minister from AAP, secured the Kalkaji seat by surpassing BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri with a lead of over 3.5 thousand votes. Additionally, party leader Gopal Rai emerged victorious in the Babarpur Assembly seat with a margin of 18,000 votes.

In the Karawal Nagar constituency, BJP's Kapil Mishra emerged victorious against AAP's Manoj Kumar Mishra. In Greater Kailash, BJP's Shikha Roy won over AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj by a margin of more than 3,000 votes. Furthermore, BJP candidate Kulwant Rana claimed a win in the Rithala constituency, defeating AAP's Mohinder Goyal by over 29,000 votes.

Sachdeva, the head of the party's Delhi branch, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to convene with BJP members at the party's headquarters in the evening.
