Bhutan king and UP CM head to Prayagraj for Mahakumbh
On Tuesday, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, left Lucknow Airport for Prayagraj to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. UP CM Yogi Adityanath greeted the Bhutan King at Lucknow Airport and presented him with a bouquet of flowers. The two officials subsequently boarded the aircraft to Prayagraj.

The Mahakumbh 2025, which began on January 13, will run until February 26. The event has already drawn millions of devotees from across the nation and around the globe and is anticipated to set new records for attendance and participation. A large number of devotees took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Basant Panchami, peacefully marking the end of the third 'Amrit Snan' of the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. Strict security protocols were implemented to guarantee a secure and organized event for everyone. The Uttar Pradesh administration honored saints and seers with flower petals during the 'Amrit Snan' at Triveni Sangam in celebration of Basant Panchami.
Officials reported that by noon on Monday, over 12.5 million worshippers had participated in the third and final Shahi Snan of Mahakumbh. An official statement indicated that comprehensive police and security measures were implemented throughout the Mahakumbh fairgrounds to provide a safe and orderly bathing experience for devotees, saints, mahatmas, and Kalpvasis.
Notable figures from different sectors, such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with his Cabinet, as well as producer Vinod Bhanushali and Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin with his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, participated in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Saturday.
