Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Prioritizes Katra Residents for Darshan
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, has announced that residents of all 41 villages falling under Katra town and Katra sub-division will be given priority in visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Those who are living here will get the darshan of the mother immediately compared to the common people. The Shrine Board has said that for this, the local people will have to show their valid address. Priority will be given to visiting the temple of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji if the Aadhaar card is shown as proof of valid address near Durga Bhawan.
Foundation Work Begins for New Exit Road
The Shrine Board has also informed that the work of laying the foundation of the new exit road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore has also been started. The exit route will be like a skywalk, which will aim to reduce congestion in the building area and the new Vaishnavi Bhavan. So that the devotees do not have any problem in the pilgrimage and they can be made to experience pleasantly.
Increasing Number of Pilgrims
Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, Anshul Garg, during his Republic Day address, reiterated the Shrine Board's unwavering commitment to the welfare and facilities of the pilgrims visiting the cave shrine and said that the Shrine Board is making efforts to further upgrade and expand the existing infrastructure in view of the increasing number of pilgrims coming from the country and abroad. For the third consecutive year, the number of devotees at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine has crossed the 90 lakh mark.
