Maha Kumbh 2025: 15 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam
Devotees continued to throng the Triveni Sangam on Tuesday as part of the Maha Kumbh 2025, the world's largest religious gathering. Meanwhile, yoga guru Baba Ramdev organised a free yoga therapy and meditation camp for the second consecutive day at the Shri Gurukashirani Kumbh Mela camp in Prayagraj. Devotees have seen a huge rush of devotees to take holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Maha Kumbh Mela. According to Uttar Pradesh government data, over 15 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers since the event began on January 13.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Home Minister Amit Shah was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Baba Ram Dev and other saints and mahants.
The Maha Kumbh, which is held every 12 years, is being held in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26 this year. As per tradition, pilgrims come to the Sangam. Take a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers. It is believed that it destroys sins and leads to salvation (liberation). The event, which started on January 13, will run till February 26. The major bathing dates include February 3 (Basant Panchami - the third royal bath), February 12 (Maghi Purnima) and February 26 (Maha Shivratri).
