High-Level Meeting in J&K Focuses on Amarnath Yatra 2025 Preparations

Shyambir, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir, led a high-level meeting to deliberate on the detailed action plan for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2025. The session in the Mini Secretariat's conference hall commenced with an evaluation of last year's visit action plan, focusing on improving service quality and infrastructure.

Key areas discussed included the enhancement of health services, sanitation, flood protection measures, solar lighting, parking facilities, mobile connectivity, transport services, contingency plans, and other essential infrastructure to ensure a smooth travel experience for pilgrims.

The Department Heads shared updates on their preparations and current projects for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY). The Animal Husbandry Department was assigned to find suitable spots along the travel route to provide hot water for horses, and the Jal Shakti Department was instructed to ensure hot water is available at these locations.

The Rural Development Department was instructed to prioritize the upkeep of toilet facilities and arrange for the repair of utilities needing attention during the trip. Simultaneously, the Assistant Regional Transport Office in Ganderbal suggested setting up a dedicated SRTC ticket counter and merging parking spaces to improve the efficiency of transportation and parking management.

To tackle the crucial problem of mobile connectivity, the DDC instructed the telecom companies to provide a comprehensive plan beforehand, emphasizing the enhancement of connectivity along the travel route beyond the base camps at Baltal and Domel.
