Women Sarpanches to Lead Villages as Ambassadors in Haryana
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini conducted a review meeting of the Women and Child Development Department in Chandigarh today. During this meeting, discussions with senior officials focused on enhancing the rural and agricultural sectors.
In the meantime, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared that as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, all female village heads in the state will be honored as proud ambassadors of their communities.
Anganwadi centers to be developed
Today, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini led the review meeting of the Women and Child Development Department. The Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt Shruti Choudhry, was also present at the session.
Shruti Chaudhary was also present at the meeting. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared that 10,000 Anganwadi centers in the state will be converted into Saksham Anganwadi centers within the next five years.
The Government of India has provided a grant of Rs.5.63 lakh for the transformation of 563 Anganwadi centers into Saksham Anganwadi Centers. Furthermore, the department has submitted an additional proposal to the Government of India to replace 2307 Anganwadi centers.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the importance of strictly enforcing the provisions of the PNDT Act 1994 and raising public awareness.
He also instructed to arrange street plays and other events in the villages to encourage people to protect the girl child. Additionally, he suggested inviting all the women of the village to these programs, which will be led by the eldest women in the community.
