President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who is currently on a five-day trip to India, had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening. During the meeting, all facets of the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership were addressed. Topics like semiconductors, digitization, skill development, and connectivity were also covered in the discussions.

In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, "Earlier this evening, met the President of Singapore, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam. We discussed the full range of the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We talked about futuristic sectors like semiconductors, digitalisation, skilling, connectivity and more. We also spoke on ways to improve cooperation in industry, infrastructure and culture."

On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar alhad a meeting with President Thurman in New Delhi. They talked about boosting collaboration in areas such as semiconductors, industrial parks, skill development, digitization, and business development.

Dr. Jaishankar conveyed in a social media post his optimism that the Singapore President's visit to India, commemorating the 60th year of bilateral ties, would inject fresh direction and energy into the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Singapore President Thurman is on a five-day trip to India, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation that includes ministers, parliamentarians, and officials. This marks his inaugural visit to India as Singapore's President.
