After a gap of 12 years, the auspicious commencement of Maha Kumbh 2025 has started. The Kumbh Mela will take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26. Over 450 million devotees are anticipated to participate in the event. The grandest spiritual assembly on Earth commenced on Monday with a 'shahi snan' to mark the auspicious day of Paush Purnima.

Worshippers from India and across the globe are gathering at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh to take a sacred dip during the Maha Kumbh Mela. Even in the icy cold weather, a group of international devotees immersed themselves in the waters at Triveni Sangam, the sacred meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the 'mysterious' Saraswati rivers.

Numerous devotees from overseas participated in the holy dip. Francisco, a devotee from Brazil visiting India for the first time in pursuit of salvation, expressed that being present there was an incredible experience. He mentioned that the water at Sangam was cold, but after immersing himself, his heart felt warm.

On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his best wishes for Paush Purnima and announced that the world's largest spiritual and cultural event, 'Maha Kumbh,' is being inaugurated in Prayagraj today.

Rapid Action Force (RAF), police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) teams are also on-site to ensure the safety of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela. The traffic police have implemented comprehensive measures and a thorough plan to ensure smooth traffic flow and security for devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Access to the Sangam Mela area will be via Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Black Road), with the exit route through Triveni Marg. Akshayavat will be off-limits to visitors during the main bathing festivals.
