Nitin Gadkari, Kangana Ranaut Kick Off 20-Day Khasdar Krida Mahotsav
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut shared their joy as they inaugurated the seventh edition of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav in Nagpur on Sunday. The event began with a marathon that attracted more than 1,000 participants.
The 20-day sports event that kicked off today will host competitions throughout the city, offering a total prize pool of Rs 1.5 crore. Approximately 80,000 athletes, ranging in age from 4 to 85 years, are anticipated to take part. A total of 762 trophies and 12,317 medals will be awarded to the winners.
Speaking at the event, Gadkari said, "I am delighted that we are commencing the seventh year of the Krida Mahotsav today. This morning's marathon saw thousands of athletes competing, kicking off the event on January 12. In the coming days, we will have the chance to enjoy a variety of sporting events in the area. I am also pleased that this year's program will extend for 20 days. This year, 80,000 athletes will participate, ranging in age from as young as four to 85 years old. The event includes 762 trophies, 12,317 medals, and a total prize fund of Rs 1.50 crore."
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut expressed worries about the declining health of adults during her speech and called for organizing similar events in rural areas and small towns. She said, "In our country, surveys show that many adults are becoming unwell. The festivities and initiatives you are organizing are a great example of this. I encourage everyone to ensure that such festivals and events are organised in villages and small areas as well." She also praised Nagpur's enthusiasm towards sports, saying, "There is a lot of enthusiasm about sports in Nagpur. This enthusiasm and awareness towards physical activity and health is a very good thing."
