On Sunday, followers of Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnea, held a demonstration at Ashok Rajpath in Patna, calling for the BPSC exam to be annulled and a re-examination to be conducted. Pappu Yadav, the Independent Member of Parliament from Purnea, has announced a 'Bihar Bandh' for today.

The scene depicted Pappu Yadav's supporters obstructing roads, setting tyres on fire, and calling for the BPSC exam to be cancelled. Since December of last year, BPSC candidates in Patna have been protesting, demanding the cancellation of the Preliminary Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by the BPSC on December 13, due to allegations of a question paper leak.

Independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, announced on Saturday that he, along with Azad Party founder Chandrashekhar Azad and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, are collaborating on the issue of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary examination and will prevent the House from functioning starting March 21.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a petition claiming widespread misconduct during the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary exam held on December 13, 2024. The bench, comprising Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and KV Vishwanathan, advised the petitioner to approach the Patna High Court with their grievances.

As the bench was not willing to review the issue, the counsel for petitioner Anand Legal Aid Forum Trust stated that the nation saw the Bihar Police's harsh treatment of peaceful demonstrators who sought the cancellation of the disputed BPSC exams. The Bihar Police reportedly used force against civil services aspirants demanding the cancellation of the BPSC.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishor, who was sent to Beur jail for refusing to pay a bail bond, was granted 'unconditional bail' by a Patna court. Shortly after being released from jail, Kishor spoke to a group of Bihar Public Service Commission aspirants who were protesting. He said, 'There is no power greater than the power of the people.' He recounted the entire incident, mentioning that the police took him to Beur jail but lacked the necessary documents to detain him.
