Swami Avimukteshwaranand Applauds CM Yogi for MahaKumbh Success
Amid preparations for the Maha Kumbh, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati on Thursday lauded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his efforts in making the mega religious congregation a grand success. The Mahakumbh itself is sacred, where the confluence of the Ganga and the Yamuna takes place. It is the responsibility of the government to make arrangements, but it is good to see that the Chief Minister himself is taking interest in it.
Speaking on the claim that some of the land being worked on for the preparations of the Mahakumbh belongs to the Waqf Board, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that there is no evidence of such claims. "We can only talk about this when there is some evidence. Speaking on the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Sant said he has urged people to support a party that is firm on cow protection.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati had earlier demanded that the cow should be given the status of 'Rashtra Mata'. The Maha Kumbh is being celebrated after 12 years, and more than 45 crore devotees are expected to visit the event. During the Mahakumbh, devotees will gather at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers to take a holy dip. The Mahakumbh will conclude on February 26. The main bathing rituals (royal bathing) of Kumbh will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya) and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
