10-Year-Old Girl Elopes with Teen She Met on Instagram

Social media has consistently been a double-edged sword, offering both advantages and disadvantages. Its influence on the youth is significant. A 10-year-old girl from Gujarat recently fled with a 16-year-old boy she met on Instagram.

According to the reports, the police apprehended the two suspects in a nearby village soon after the girl's family complained. A 10-year-old girl, who is a fifth-grade student, went missing from her residence in Dhansura village on December 31.

After hours of searching, her family finally informed the police, claiming that the girl had been abducted.

The police discovered that the girl and the boy, who resided in different villages, had been in regular phone contact after connecting on Instagram. On the day she disappeared, the pair, along with three friends, devised a plan and fled.

The girl's father was unfamiliar with social media. Authorities found out that she had been using her mother's phone to log into Instagram, where she had been in contact with the boy.

This situation mirrors a comparable event from the previous year in Madhya Pradesh, where a 15-year-old girl ran away with a 27-year-old man she had connected with on a social media site. The pair warned their parents to organize a wedding ceremony or face separation.
