Inspection of ongoing preparations for the mega religious gathering
Uttar Pradesh police squads on Saturday conducted mock drills at various sites in the Mahakumbh Mela city, with UP DGP Prashant Kumar personally inspecting the ongoing preparations for the mega religious gathering. In line with these efforts, commando units were seen rehearsing counter-terrorist operations and demonstrating various security measures. Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar said on Saturday that complete security arrangements have been made for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
40 to 50 crore People To take Holy Dip
Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar told reporters, "Elaborate security arrangements have been made. CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire area for surveillance. Work is going on in coordination with all departments. All precautions are being taken here. We have taken the responsibility and made preparations as 40 to 50 crore people will take a holy dip during the Maha Kumbh," he said. Earlier today, many Akharas took out grand Shobha Yatra in Prayagraj. The procession had a lively display of devotion, with sadhus wrapped in sacred ashes, adorned with garlands and mounted on horses. The Maha Kumbh, held once in every 12 years, will begin on January 13 and end on February 26 in Prayagraj.
Prayagraj all set for Mahakumbh
The Uttar Pradesh Police has deployed underwater drones in and around the Mahakumbh camp area and installed 2,700 AI-enabled cameras to enhance security. Uttar Pradesh Minister J P S Rathore said Prayagraj is fully prepared for the Mahakumbh and it is expected that over 45 crore devotees will attend the event. This time the Kumbh has been systematically and technologically equipped. We are expecting that more than 45 crore devotees will come to see Maha Kumbh," he said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has spoken to saints and sages and named the 'Shahi Snan' as 'Amrit Snan'. The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department will set up 20 small stages at prominent locations in Prayagraj, giving tourists, devotees and locals a chance to experience the country's diverse cultural heritage in 45 days. Folk dances from various states across India will be presented on these stages.
