Rahul Gandhi Backs BPSC Aspirants Amid Protests
BPSC candidates continue to protest for their demands. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi has shown his support for them, stating that they are with the students in their fight. The Member of Parliament from Congress vowed to back the students in their fight for their rights.
Students protesting in Patna are calling for the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, which was held on December 13 by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
In light of the continuous protests by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates calling for a re-examination of the 70th BPSC preliminary exam, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi showed his support for the demonstrating students.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP was "cutting off the thumb of the youth of India like Eklavya, ruining their future".
In a post written in Hindi on Friday, Rahul Gandhi alleged, "A breakdown in government hiring is a significant unfairness. Initially, recruitment notices are not issued. Even when they are, the exams are not conducted punctually. When exams do take place, there are instances of paper leaks. Young people calling for justice often face harsh suppression. He claimed that two students were detained during a protest against supposed irregularities in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission exams.
Responding to a tweet by the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit, Rahul Gandhi said, "Following the recent events in UP and Bihar, two students protesting against irregularities in the MPPSC in Madhya Pradesh have now been incarcerated. Even after the Chief Minister personally met with the students and promised to consider their demands, the BJP government has betrayed the students and undermined the democratic system. We stand with the students in their struggle for their rights and will not let the BJP silence the voices of the country's youth under any circumstances."
In the meantime, this morning, police dispersed supporters of Purnia MP Pappu Yadav who had staged a 'rail roko' at the Secretariat Halt railway station to back the students' protest against the BPSC.
