The political situation in Bihar has intensified after the police used batons on BPSC candidates in Patna.

The candidates held a large protest at Gandhi Maidan on Sunday, calling for the cancellation of the BPSC's 70th preliminary examination, which had already been prohibited by the administration. The demonstration was headed by renowned social activist Prashant Kishor.

The police deployed water cannons and then resorted to lathi-charge as the protesters advanced towards the Chief Minister's residence, ignoring warnings and barricades set up by the administration.

Multiple participants were injured during the incident. Consequently, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced substantial backing for the BPSC candidates and intends to hold a statewide chakka jam in Bihar on Monday.

Although many candidates, led by Prashant Kishor, had begun assembling at Gandhi Maidan, the authorities prohibited the protest. Nevertheless, the candidates proceeded towards the Chief Minister's residence, and despite the administration's barricades, the crowd could not be contained.

The police used water cannons near JP Golambar, but the candidates persisted, prompting the police to resort to lathi-charge.
