IRCTC Outage Affects Tatkal Ticket Booking, Services Restored
Users faced interruptions in the services of the IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) Website and App today. Many expressed their frustrations on social media.
Later, the Indian railways website said that the e-ticketing service will be unavailable due to maintenance work. The outage disturbed countless customers who were trying to book Tatkal tickets over the holidays. This is the second time in this month that the e-ticketing platform has caused such inconvenience.
The disruptions lasted for almost one-and-a-half hours. However, all services have been fully restored.

Meanwhile on Thursday, December 26, IRCTC's share price dropped by 1.2 percent to an intraday low of Rs 778.95 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The decline in IRCTC's share price occurred following reports that the IRCTC website was down today.
At 11:45 AM, IRCTC shares were trading at Rs 781.5 per share on the NSE, reflecting a 0.9 per cent decline, while the benchmark Nifty50 index saw a 0.12 per cent increase. In the last year, IRCTC's share price has decreased by 9 percent on the stock exchanges, while the benchmark indices have risen by 10 percent.
IRCTC achieved a net profit of Rs 307.8 crore in the July-September quarter (Q2) of this financial year, marking a 4.5 percent increase from the previous year's profit of Rs 294.7 crore.
