Atishi Accuses BJP of Spreading False Notices on Women's Welfare Scheme

AAP Accuses BJP of Pressuring Officials on Mahila Samman Yojana

On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi stated that the newspaper notices opposing the welfare schemes announced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in anticipation of the 2025 assembly elections are untrue. He further alleged that the BJP was coercing Delhi government officials to enforce it.

The Chief Minister of Delhi promised to take measures against the officials responsible for issuing the notification. Speaking to the media, Atishi stated that the cabinet's decision regarding the Mahila Samman Yojana is already public. The notices published in newspapers today are incorrect.

She said, "The BJP, under pressure from certain officials, issued the notice today. These officials will face administrative and police action. Details regarding the announcement of the Mahila Samman Yojana by the Delhi Cabinet are publicly available".

"Mr. Arvind has claimed that credible information suggests a false case is being brought against him (by the BJP) to stop free bus rides for women in Delhi. Even if I am detained, I have faith in the legal system and the Constitution that I will be granted bail despite their unfounded accusations against me," she said.

This follows the clarification issued by the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department of the Delhi government concerning the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' announced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) before the 2025 assembly elections. The department announced that no such scheme has been officially declared.

"The department stated in a notice published in national newspapers on Wednesday that the Delhi government has not announced any such scheme. It is highlighted that because such a scheme does not exist, the issue of accepting forms or applications for registration under this non-existent scheme does not arise," the notice said.
