UP CM Ensures Safety and Cleanliness for Maha Kumbh 2025
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela during his visit to Prayagraj. During the visit, CM Yogi also worshiped at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Briefing reporters about the preparations for the Maha Kumbh, CM Yogi said, "I have come here to review the ongoing work related to Kumbh ... The Uttar Pradesh Jal Board and the irrigation department are working to ensure the vision of clean Ganga. Efforts are being made to stop polluted water from entering the river. "For the first time, people will see the Ganga riverfront, which is expected to be ready by December 30. He further said that the health department has set up a temporary hospital with 100 beds.

CM Yogi said, for the first time, pilgrims will get to see the tableau of Prayagraj. The Maha Kumbh, which is held once in every 12 years, will begin on January 13 and end on February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj. The main bathing festivals, known as the "Shahi Snan", will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya) and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
As part of the preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, 220 specialist deep-sea divers from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) will be deployed in the Sangam waters. These divers with the help of 700 boats will be on high alert round the clock to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the holy bathing rituals.

In addition, teams of NDRF, SDRF, water police, Provincial Armed Forces (PAC), and healthcare workers will coordinate efforts to provide security to devotees during the Kumbh Mela. According to officials, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) will augment its tent-based deluxe accommodation facilities by building a 300-bed deluxe hostel in the Mahakumbh Mela area. This large-scale project, to be launched soon, aims to provide premium accommodation options for visitors.

The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department will set up 20 small stages at prominent places in Prayagraj which will enable tourists, devotees and locals to experience the country's diverse cultural heritage for 45 days. Folk dances of various Indian states will be presented on these stages. Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar had earlier this month said that the Uttar Pradesh Police will integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies in its CCTV systems to enhance the security of lakhs of devotees.
