Jaipur Tanker Collision: Death Toll Rises, PM Modi Announces Compensation

PM Modi Announces Compensation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. In a post on X, the Prime Minister's Office expressed grief, saying, "Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Rajasthan. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The local administration is assisting the affected people. The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. He also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
28 Patients Admitted to Hospital
Meanwhile, on Friday, SMS Hospital Superintendent Dr Sushil Kumar Bhati confirmed that seven people have died and 10 to 12 others have been injured. Over 60 per cent of the victims have suffered burns, while around 28 patients are hospitalised, six of whom are on ventilators, he said. Earlier, Kumar described the incident as "horrific" and said, "The accident and the subsequent fire took place this morning on the main Ajmer road in Bhankrota area of Jaipur. About two dozen vehicles caught fire and many trucks and trolleys were burnt to ashes. The accident took place near a petrol pump.
