Central Railway to Run 48 Special Trains for Festive Season

Special Festive Trains to Run from Mumbai to Goa and Kochi

As Christmas and New Year approach, the Indian Railways have already taken steps to ensure passenger convenience. The Central Railway has declared that 48 special trains will be run to cater to passengers during Christmas and New Year.

Central Railway CPRO Swapnil Neela informed IANS on Wednesday that Central Railway will operate 48 special trains for Christmas and winter holidays. Among these, 34 special trains will run from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Karmali station in Goa. These trains will run between December 20 and January 5.

"The trains will stop at multiple stations such as Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, and Thivim" he said.

The train includes a first-class AC coach and a second-class AC coach. Additionally, there are 11 third-class AC coaches, two sleeper coaches, and two general coaches. CPRO Swapnil Neela announced that the train will operate for eight trips from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Kochi.

Trains will operate every Thursday

These trains will operate weekly on Thursdays, from December 19 to January 9. Additionally, six trips are scheduled from Pune to Karmali, enabling passengers to visit their villages for Christmas and winter holidays.

As per the CPRO, the Central Railway has taken measures to deploy RPF at railway stations. Security will be enhanced at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Dadar.
