Prime Minister Narendra Modi will oversee the closing day of the fourth National Conference of Chief Secretaries in Delhi on Sunday.

As stated in an official release, the three-day Conference scheduled from December 13 to 15, 2024, will focus on the development and execution of a unified development plan and strategy for coordinated efforts in collaboration with the states.

The release stated that this will be another significant move towards enhancing the collaboration between the Centre and the state governments. It will establish a foundation for joint efforts to leverage India's demographic advantage by fostering entrepreneurship, improving skill development programs, and generating sustainable job opportunities for people in both rural and urban areas.

Following thorough discussions among central Ministries/departments, NITI Aayog, States/UTs, and domain experts, the fourth National Conference will concentrate on the theme 'Promoting Entrepreneurship, Employment & Skilling - Leveraging the Demographic Dividend,' highlighting best practices and strategies for States/UTs to adopt.

The announcement highlighted that within this broad theme, particular focus will be placed on six sectors: manufacturing, services, rural non-farm, urban, renewable energy, and the circular economy for in-depth discussions.

Additionally, four special sessions will focus on Frontier Technology for a Developed India, Transforming Cities into Economic Growth Centers, State-Level Economic Reforms for Investment, and Capacity Building via Mission Karmayogi. Moreover, in-depth discussions during meals will cover Atmanirbharata in Agriculture: Edible Oils and Pulses, Care Economy for the Elderly, PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme Implementation, and the Indian Knowledge Tradition.

The Conference will also showcase best practices from states and Union Territories for cross-learning purposes. Chief Secretaries, senior officials from all States and Union Territories, along with domain experts, will be in attendance.

Guided by the Prime Minister's vision to enhance cooperative federalism and improve coordination between the Centre and States for accelerated growth and development, the Conference of Chief Secretaries has been held annually for the past three years.

The inaugural Chief Secretaries Conference took place in Dharamshala in June 2022, with the subsequent conferences held in New Delhi in January 2023 and December 2023.
