Atul Subhash Suicide: Wife, Two Relatives Arrested for Alleged Torture
According to Karnataka police, three individuals have been apprehended in relation to the death of Atul Subhash. He took his own life by hanging, alleging that his wife had tortured him.
Police reported that Nikita Singhania, the wife of Subhash, was apprehended in Gurugram, Haryana. Additionally, her mother, Nisha Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, were detained in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the court has ordered the three suspects in the case to be placed in judicial custody.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) White Field Division, Bengaluru, Shivakumar said in a release, "The suspect A1 Nikita Singhania has been apprehended in Gurugram, Haryana. Suspect A2 Nisha Singhania and suspect A3 Anurag Singhania were detained in Allahabad and presented before the court, which placed them in judicial custody".
Atul Subhash, 34, a deputy general manager at a private firm, ended his life in his Bengaluru residence on Monday. He left behind a 24-page suicide note claiming that his wife and her relatives had been harassing him.
In his suicide note, he claimed that a judge had asked for Rs 5 lakh to 'resolve' the case. The father of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash stated that his son was 'devastated' after his wife filed multiple cases against him and his family.
Subhash's father Pawan Kumar told ANI, "My son often mentioned the widespread corruption, but he vowed to fight it as he believed in the path of truth. Despite his determination, he was internally shattered, although he never expressed it to anyone.."
On the morning of December 9, Atul Subhash took his own life after alleging harassment by his wife and her family. Subhash had inscribed 'justice should be done' on each of the 24 pages of his note. In his suicide note, he also claimed that his wife had filed nine cases against him under different charges, including murder, sexual misconduct, harassment for money, domestic violence, and dowry.
