Raghav Chadha Addresses Pollution and Stubble Burning Concerns in Rajya Sabha

Air pollution becomes a serious problem in Delhi-NCR every year with the onset of winter. Politics begins with pollution.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, while speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, said that we talk a lot about AI, but we have to talk about AQI.

He said that more pollution than Delhi is in many areas like Bhagalpur, Bhiwani, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Noida, Vidisha, Agra, Faridabad, but all the blame for pollution is put on the farmers of the country.

What Comments did Raghav Chadha make Regarding the farmers?

"Today I want to raise the issue of the farmers of the country. IIT has pointed out that stubble burning is just one cause of pollution, but it is not the only cause of air pollution.

He said that throughout the year we say that the farmer is our food data, but as soon as the month of November comes, we start saying that the farmer should be fined. Farmers burn stubble under compulsion.

Stubble Burning have Increased in States

"Incidents of stubble burning have increased in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh. Punjab saw a reduction of more than 70 per cent in stubble burning incidents.

The diet of Punjabis is not rice, Punjab cultivated paddy to meet the requirement of the country. This has caused us losses, the water level has gone down.

The stubble that remains after harvesting the paddy crop has only 10 to 12 days to be removed, as the next crop is sown. The cost of removing stubble from machines is 2 to 3 thousand rupees per acre, so the farmer is forced to burn the stubble. "

Appeal to the Central Government

Raghav Chadha said, "I have come up with a solution for this. If the central government gives assistance of Rs 2,000 per acre to the farmers to remove stubble and the state government will give help of Rs 500 in this, then this problem can be solved short-term.
