This election is an important moment in the political scenario of Maharashtra, as this is the first assembly election after the split in Shiv Sena and NCP.

The electoral contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has intensified.

Call for Election has been Made

Among the prominent leaders in the fray is Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Kopri-Pachpakhri, where he is pitted against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Kedar Prakash Dighe.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is contesting from his stronghold Nagpur South West against Congress' Prafulla Gudade.

Meanwhile, NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is pitted against NCP's Yungendra Pawar to save Baramati, the traditional bastion of the Pawar family.

Voting will be held in 288 assembly seats.

In Mumbai, Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray is contesting again from Worli in a Sena versus Sena contest against Shiv Sena's Milind Deora. Similarly, Amit Thackeray of MNS is facing a triangular fight against Shiv Sena's Sada Sarvankar and Shiv Sena's (UBT) Mahesh Sawant in Mahim.

Polling for 288 assembly seats in the state will be closely monitored, with many constituencies witnessing interesting contests.

Voter turnout remains an important hub, with both the Election Commission and local initiatives urging citizens to exercise their franchise.
