Six individuals from Bangladesh detained in Chitradurga
Six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested on November 18 near Holalkere Road in Chitradurga town for allegedly entering the country illegally and settling there.
The individuals have been named as Sheikh Saifur Rohman, Muhammad Suman Hussain Ali, Mazharul, Azizul Sheikh, Muhammad Sakibsikdar, and Sanowar Hussain.
As per an official statement from the police, six Bangladeshi citizens were detained on November 18 during a patrol in the second phase of Dhawalgiri Layout near Arvind Garments and White Wash Garments on Holalkere Road in Chitradurga city.
Several years back, they came here unlawfully with the aim of establishing themselves
Upon questioning and examining the documents in their possession, it was discovered that these individuals are Bangladeshi citizens. They had unlawfully entered India several years ago with the intent to settle here.
After initially arriving from West Bengal, they obtained counterfeit Aadhaar cards and other documents in Kolkata. They are now working in various states across India to earn a living and had recently arrived in Chitradurga city seeking employment.
Counterfeit Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, labor cards, bank passbooks, PAN cards, and a passport found in their possession have been confiscated for further legal action,
The ED initiated measures last week
Last Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate apprehended a man linked to a Bangladeshi infiltration case, accused of aiding illegal infiltration and human trafficking in India.
In a post on X, the ED identified the man as Pinky Basu Mukherjee.
Previously, the ED had detained two Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian from Kolkata in relation to the same case.
'The ED, Ranchi has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, Roni Mondal and Sameer Chaudhary, and two Indian nationals, Pintu Halder on November 12 and Pinky Basu Mukherjee on November 13, in the Bangladeshi infiltration case to facilitate illegal infiltration and human trafficking into India,' the agency posted on X.
