Insect was Found in Passengers Casserole Container

The investigation revealed that the insect was found sticking to the lid of the casserole container, which seemed uncooked, possibly indicating contamination after preparation. The officials apologised to the passenger, promised strict action against the licensee and offered an alternative meal at Dindigul station, which the customer declined. The packet of contaminated food was given to the Dindigul health inspector for quality assurance. Preliminary inspection of other food containers found no discrepancy. A comprehensive evaluation of the small pantry area, where food packets were distributed, revealed that it was clean and did not show signs of any pest activity, a railway statement said.
