Punjab Anti-Drug Campaign: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said today that the Punjab Government’s “War Against Drugs” campaign has achieved another major success after Gurkirat Singh, a resident of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district, was allegedly caught consuming drugs inside a cremation ground. Cheema stated that the accused has direct links with the Congress Party and that photographs have surfaced showing him with several senior Congress leaders.

Cheema added that the people of Punjab are well aware that during the rule of the Shiromani Akali Dal–BJP alliance as well as during the Congress government, drugs flooded the state. He said that many individuals being arrested today have had direct or indirect links with Congress, the Akali Dal, and the BJP. According to him, the parties responsible for ruining Punjab are now feeling the heat.
