Sharing information on the social media platform ‘X’ after the meeting, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “In Somnath, I chaired a meeting of the Shri Somnath Trust. We discussed various aspects related to infrastructure upgradation in the temple complex and ways to make the pilgrimage to Somnath even more memorable.”
The Spiritual Experience of Chanting the Omkar Mantra
PM Modi also shared his experience chanting the Omkar mantra at the Somnath temple. He wrote,
“Om is the essence of our Vedas, Shastras, Puranas, Upanishads, and Vedanta. Om is the root of meditation and the foundation of yoga. Om is the goal in sadhana. Om is the form of the word Brahma. Our mantras begin and end with Om. Today, at the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, I had the privilege of collectively chanting the Omkar sound for 1000 seconds. Its energy is making my inner self vibrate and feel joyful. Om Tat Sat!!”

Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to his home state of Gujarat. He was given a grand welcome upon his arrival at Somnath on Saturday. He described it as a glorious symbol of the courage and self-confidence of Indian civilization.

In another post, the Prime Minister wrote,
“It is a great feeling to be in Somnath, a glorious symbol of the courage of our civilization. This visit coincides with the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, when the entire country comes together to mark the thousandth anniversary of the first attack on the Somnath Temple in 1026. I am grateful to the people for the warm welcome.”
Sunday’s program: Shaurya Yatra and public meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to take part in the Shaurya Yatra at around 9:45 am on Sunday. The procession is being held to honour the countless brave warriors who laid down their lives defending the Somnath Temple. As part of the yatra, a symbolic procession of 108 horses will be carried out, representing courage and sacrifice.
Following this, at around 10:15 am, the Prime Minister will visit the Somnath Temple to offer prayers. Later, at approximately 11 am, he will attend a public programme in Somnath and address a public gathering.
