Moose Wala Revenge Killing: Kabaddi player Rana Balachauria was killed after unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire during a Kabaddi tournament in Sector 79 of Mohali, Punjab. The incident took place during a Kabaddi match in Sohana area, creating panic among the players, organisers and spectators present on the ground. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans, two to three assailants came on motorcycles and fled from the spot after firing. The Bambiha gang has claimed responsibility for the murder and shared the information on social media.

Following the murder of kabaddi player Rana Balachauria, a post is going viral on social media in which the Ghanshampuria gang and Shagunpreet, affiliated with the Bambiha gang, has claimed the responsibility of the killing. They stated that the murder is retaliation for the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. It was reported that Rana Balachauria, the kabaddi player killed in the shootout, was harboring Sidhu Moosewala’s killers and was associated with Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Lawrence Bishnoi.
Kabaddi Player Shot Dead
The SSP said that a Kabaddi match was underway in Sohana when two or three people opened fire. Kabaddi player Rana Balachauria was injured in the firing and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Fortis Hospital Mohali confirmed that the 30-year-old Kabaddi player succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The hospital said in a statement that Kabaddi player Rana Balachauria was brought to Fortis Hospital Mohali with gunshot wounds on December 15, 2025 at 6:05 pm.
Sidhu Moose Wala Revenge Case
While undergoing treatment at the hospital and despite the efforts of the medical team, he was declared dead. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Following the shooting, police and other security forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to prevent further unrest. A forensic team also arrived at the scene and collected witnesses and other evidence to aid the investigation. Police officials stated that an investigation is underway to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the crime. Senior police officers are monitoring the investigation.
