Gujarat: In a major political shake-up, every minister in the Gujarat government has submitted their resignation ahead of a significant cabinet reshuffle set for Friday. Sources indicate that only about 7-10 ministers are expected to return to their posts, while the remaining positions will be filled with new appointees. The resignations of those who are being reappointed are reportedly unlikely to be sent to the governor.

The present Gujarat cabinet, which currently includes 16 members, is expected to be expanded to 26 as part of this restructuring. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remains the only member of the current cabinet to continue in office. He is expected to meet Governor Acharya Devvrat later tonight to formally submit the resignations.

The new Gujarat cabinet is set to take oath at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J.P. Nadda in attendance.

According to party insiders, the revamped cabinet will feature a blend of seasoned and younger leaders, carefully structured to ensure caste representation across all communities.

This development comes after a meeting at the chief minister’s residence on Thursday evening, which was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP national general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal. Sources said Bansal and Patel met each minister separately, conveyed the central leadership’s decision, and collected their resignations accordingly.
