AQI Alert in Delhi: The residents of national capital are going through a tough phase. The air quality has reached the “Hazardous” category on Sunday. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed the 400 mark at most monitoring stations. As per the CPCB data at 8 am, the AQI was recorded at 421 in Ashok Vihar, 422 in Rohini, 417 in ITO and 410 in Punjabi Bagh. It should be noted that the CPCB classifies an AQI between 401 and 500 as ‘severe’, indicating serious health risks for all age groups.

AQI Alert in Delhi: Stubble burning contributed 16.3%
According to the Decision Support System (DSS) developed by IITM Pune, stubble-burning accounted for 16.3% of Delhi’s pollution on Saturday. Vehicular emissions, however, were the biggest contributor, making up 18.3% of the total pollution load. The DSS also projects that stubble-burning will make up around 14.5% of the capital’s pollution on Sunday.
Today Weather 16 Nov: Delhi woke up to biting cold
Delhi began the day under a layer of sharp cold and thick smog as the city’s air quality once again slipped into the severe range. The temperature fell to 9.7°C, making it one of the coldest mornings of the season and the first time this winter that the minimum temperature has dipped below 10°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fog or light mist in the early hours, followed by partly cloudy conditions on November 18 and 19. The maximum temperature is expected to stay between 24°C and 26°C, while the minimum may settle around 12°C.
