Anurag Dhanda: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda launched a sharp criticism of the BJP-led Haryana government on Saturday. He accused Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of turning the launch of the first installment of the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana in Panchkula into a mere publicity stunt. Dhanda called it “the biggest electoral deception against women.”

According to Dhanda, before the elections, the BJP had pledged to provide ₹2,100 every month to every woman in the state. However, after the official launch of the scheme, the ground reality paints a completely different picture—only 3.73% of the 1.4 crore women in Haryana have received the payment in their accounts. “This means nearly 96% of women have been cheated,” he said. “The BJP had promised benefits for every woman, but now it has attached every possible condition to exclude them.”

He pointed out that the scheme’s eligibility rules have been designed in such a restrictive way that most women are automatically left out. Families must have an annual income of less than ₹1 lakh, the applicant must be over 23 years old, and any woman whose husband is from outside Haryana or whose family receives a pension is disqualified. As a result, young students, newly married women, widows, and women from poor households have been left out.

Dhanda further said that the Chief Minister used the event as a photo opportunity, pretending to empower women while, in reality, mocking their struggles. “This is not a welfare scheme—it’s a cruel joke. The BJP has insulted women, not empowered them,” he remarked. “They call it the Lado Laxmi Yojana, but it’s actually a Luto Laxmi Yojana, where crores were promised but only a few thousand saw any benefit.”

He accused the BJP government of being more concerned with publicity than people’s welfare, saying the Chief Minister “has time for stage shows and cameras but no genuine policy or intention to help ordinary women.” Dhanda added, “Women have now seen through these false promises—the grand speeches, the lights, and the lies.”

The Aam Aadmi Party asserted that the women of Haryana placed their trust in the BJP, but in return, they got betrayal and humiliation. Dhanda warned that voters would give the ruling party a fitting response in the upcoming elections. “The BJP will now have to answer not only for ₹2,100 but for every single vote of women,” he said. “The daughters of Haryana will no longer remain silent—they will rise and fight for their rights.”
