HMD Vibe 2 5G: Buying a budget smartphone often means compromising on either battery life, performance, camera quality or software experience. But HMD’s latest Vibe 2 5G is looking to change that equation with a combination of AI-powered features, government-backed security integration and a massive battery.
One of the biggest highlights of the HMD Vibe 2 5G is its integration with INDUS by Sarvam AI. The AI assistant supports 22 Indian languages, allowing users to interact through voice or text in their preferred language. At a time when AI capabilities are largely limited to premium smartphones, HMD is bringing India-focused AI experiences to a much more affordable segment.
The smartphone also comes integrated with Sanchar Saathi, the Government of India-backed initiative focused on mobile security and digital identity protection. The feature aims to improve awareness around cyber fraud prevention, device security and safer smartphone usage, making it one of the few smartphones in the segment to offer such a security-focused experience.
On the hardware front, the HMD Vibe 2 5G packs a 6000mAh battery with 18W charging support, a 50MP AI dual-camera system, an 8MP front camera and a 120Hz refresh rate display. The device runs on Android 16 and is powered by an octa-core 2.3GHz processor. It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
According to the company, the smartphone has been designed keeping the evolving needs of Indian consumers in mind, where AI capabilities, digital safety and long battery life are becoming increasingly important purchase considerations.
“The smartphone market is evolving rapidly, and consumers today are looking for devices that are not only powerful but also intelligent and secure. With the Vibe 2 5G, we are bringing together AI, digital trust and reliable performance in a package designed for India,” said Ravi Kunwar.
The HMD Vibe 2 5G is available in 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB variants, with prices starting at Rs 9,499. The smartphone is available exclusively on Flipkart Unique.
As HMD continues to build its identity beyond its Nokia legacy, the Vibe 2 5G could emerge as a strong contender for buyers looking for a feature-packed budget smartphone with a distinct focus on AI and security.
