The Senior Citizens Kesari Club is like a big, loving family, connected by strong bonds. Life is a journey where people come together and eventually move on. Everyone leaves behind some happy memories when they go. But a few special people, because of their kindness and good work, leave a lasting impact on our hearts and are remembered forever.

One such hardworking individual was P.K. Malik, who served as the coordinator of the Senior Citizens Kesari Club for 15 years, maintaining contact with every branch and every member. He was a retired LIC officer and proudly introduced himself to everyone. “I am a retired LIC officer,” was his first sentence. He lived his life with great discipline and maintained discipline in all his members. I was nominally his boss, but he treated me with affection and respect, treating me like a younger sister. He may have been older, but his energy, service, and compassion remained youthful. He was a guide, a support, and a well-wisher not only for his family but for all of us. He always encouraged me and stood by me in every difficulty. His demeanor was simple, his thinking positive, and his intentions were always for the well-being of all. We took our members to Dubai, Singapore, he took care of each member and if I worried about anyone, he would always say, Madam, don’t worry, I am here.

Whenever any member passed away, he would always tell me, “Madam ji, I will go. You should not go. This is my duty.” Members here pass away every second or third day. If I visit one family and not another, people may feel hurt. That’s why I usually avoid going anywhere.

But today, I am going to attend his last rites. Two babies were recently born in the family, and one is not even 40 days old. Everyone is telling me not to go, but I feel I must be there to support the family and show that I am always with them. I’m sure that if he were alive, he would have said the same thing—“Madam ji, you don’t go, I am here.” But since he is not here today, I have to go.

People say that one day a person may leave this world, but their kind words stay forever. Today, we remember his discipline, his enthusiasm, and his hard work. He is no longer with us, but his ideals, values, and teachings will always guide us. We pray that God gives peace to his soul. What he did for senior citizens is like a precious legacy. Such special people are rarely born. On behalf of all of us, we offer him our heartfelt respect.
