Delhi BJP Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has decided to give Rs 2,500 per month to poor women of the capital and made it clear that she is committed to fulfilling the promises made by her party to the people of Delhi elections. In the run-up to the elections, the BJP had issued several manifestos saying that if the party comes to power, it will fulfill all the promises. By deciding to provide financial help to women, Rekha Gupta has made it clear that election promises cannot be made only on paper, but they have to be implemented on the ground. His government has announced to financially empower women by making a budgetary provision of Rs 5100 crore for this purpose. In poor families, women are the most burdened because on the one hand they have to handle the responsibilities of the house and on the other hand they also have to work to run the household.

Being financially empowered will help them to take up their responsibilities. Earlier it was being understood how the BJP would be able to fulfill its promise because it would cost a lot but Rekha ji has made it clear that there is no difference between the words and actions of her party. This help to women cannot be called Rewari because poor families have to face a lot of difficulties in facing Delhi’s inflation. If government revenue is spent to alleviate the pain of the poor, we cannot call it a dole. However, there is a different debate as to how far it is right to give cash assistance to citizens. In a democracy, this debate can take place on many fronts, but its essence is that democracy gives the right to the poor people to live with dignity. Along with this, we also know that the Constitution of India advocates public welfare rule and in this system, it is the duty of the government to help the backward and poor citizens.

If the Delhi government is following this path, then it should not be opposed by opposition parties just for the sake of opposition. The people of Delhi have handed over the throne to the BJP in Delhi after 27 years, so it is the duty of this party to fulfill all its promises made to the people and make the capital the most modern city. Rekha ji has started moving forward on this march which should be welcomed. BJP’s Mahila Samridhi Yojana will be considered meaningful only when even the poorest of the poor women will be empowered and help in becoming prosperous. Rekha ji announced this on International Women’s Day on March 8 and made it clear that her government will give 2500 rupees per month to remove the economic weakness of poor women.

Now the question is what should be the rules for the beneficiary women of Samruddhi Yojana so that more and more poor women can take advantage under this scheme. For this, the Chief Minister has constituted a committee under his chairmanship, whose other three members will be Delhi Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood and Kapil Mishra respectively. The Delhi government will soon open a web portal on which poor women can register themselves to avail the facility, but it is not yet clear how much income will be registered under the scheme. There will be brainstorming within the Delhi government and the BJP party will also need to be involved in it as the promise was made by the party,” he said. According to an estimate, poor women who do not get financial help under any other government scheme should be registered. Then it will also be considered whether the individual annual income of the adult woman is and whether she falls below the poverty line or not. Should we consider an annual income of Rs 3 lakh below the poverty line or an annual income of Rs 2 lakh? It is for the government to decide. But it is being told that this limit can be three lakh rupees annually. In fact, this is an opportunity for the BJP to implement its Antyodaya idea.

Everyone knows that the BJP leader is a BJP leader. Deendayal Upadhyay had given the idea that the government and society should help the person standing on the last rung of society. Rekha Gupta should set such conditions for the beneficiaries which will strengthen the spirit of Antyodaya. They also have to work for the safety of women in Delhi, so their relationship with the Home Ministry should also be very cordial. By winning the elections to the BJP, the people of Delhi have given the same message that the capital should be governed without any hassle or quarrel. Therefore, Rekha ji’s statement that her government will clean the Yamuna within three years and give a new look seems to give hope to the people and they are also waiting for the BJP’s other election promises to be implemented on the ground.
