This month has been full of weddings. I attended many of them—some were very grand, while others were simple. Each wedding had its own charm. However, the wedding that was discussed the most and that I personally liked was that of storyteller Indresh Ji. His wedding was celebrated with great devotion, tradition, and grandeur. When I watched the wedding videos, I truly wished I could have been there. So many well-known storytellers and saints were present that it felt like a divine celebration.
What made this wedding truly special was its spiritual atmosphere. There was a horse, a procession, and a band, but instead of loud music, people were dancing to “Radhe Radhe” bhajans. Everything was done in the name of God, which made the entire event peaceful and spiritual. Indresh Ji also showed deep respect for his parents, openly acknowledging that whatever he is today is because of them—especially his father, who taught him storytelling from a very young age. This sends a powerful message to today’s youth about respecting parents.
At present, many rumors are being spread about this couple, which is completely wrong. No one has the right to interfere in someone’s personal life. I do not know whether these things are true or false, but even if they were true, my respect for Indresh Ji would remain unchanged. I have not listened to his storytelling before, but I will surely do so now. A storyteller who, at such a young age, is teaching values to millions, respecting his parents, and honoring his sisters deserves appreciation.
Our religious scriptures give very positive and sacred messages about marriage. The marriages of Lord Rama and Sita, Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati all teach us the importance of commitment and purity in marriage. During weddings, couples take seven vows, promising to support each other in every situation of life. Today, people form opinions based on social media trends, but the younger generation must respect traditional values and the sacred nature of marriage.
This message is especially important in today’s society, where divorce cases are increasing and the seriousness of marriage is declining. Instead of focusing only on personal freedom, people should also protect the sanctity of marriage. Unfortunately, some religious figures have misused their position and harmed others, which has damaged trust. Whether someone is a saint or a public figure, fulfilling marital responsibilities with honesty and dignity is essential. This belief is shared by many people today.
In this context, the marriage of Indresh Upadhyay and Shipra has gained a lot of attention. People have shared both positive and negative opinions. However, if a storyteller organizes a grand wedding with his own money while strictly following religious traditions, and if 101 priests and scholars perform the rituals according to Vedic customs, then it reflects the deep religious and cultural importance of marriage.
Marriage is not just the coming together of two individuals; it is a bond between two families, built on traditions, mutual respect, happiness, and shared responsibilities. We should focus on the positive message that such weddings convey. The sacred institution of marriage has kept our grandparents and joint families together for generations. Today, some youngsters treat marriage as a casual event, but its values, discipline, and sanctity are timeless.
The wedding of Indresh and Shipra should be seen as a reminder of these values and embraced with positivity.
