Prime Minister Modi’s message to nation
Every year, on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations, citizens eagerly await the address of the nation’s leader. The words of national leaders deeply influence the people. Their thoughts have always infused new energy in the youth. While, traditionally, leaders highlight the government’s achievements and announce welfare schemes and programs on this occasion, when the leader is someone like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his message is not only for Indians but also for the entire world.
Narendra Modi, who rose to the nation’s highest office after enduring many struggles in his life, has always inspired people to feel proud of being Indian and to move forward with renewed enthusiasm toward their goals. Once an individual is determined to achieve something, no power can stop them—this is proof of people’s strength. A nation is built not only by its governments but also by the collective strength of its citizens.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong ideas and tireless work ethic have filled the people with determination and passion to move forward. In his 12th address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, he presented a new vision of a prosperous and self-reliant India. He highlighted many aspects of technological progress, economic self-reliance, national security, and social issues. His speech reflected a clear direction and a firm resolve to make India self-reliant and developed by 2047.
Freedom does not merely mean liberation from external bondage; it also requires inner discipline and self-control, without which no nation can achieve long-term progress or self-respect. India is such a nation, with deep cultural, philosophical, and spiritual richness at its roots. It does not only have geographical expanse but also profound cultural depth. Today, India is not just protecting its political independence, but is also moving firmly toward self-reliance. The campaign of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) is not just an economic plan—it is a declaration of mental independence. It tells citizens to become self-reliant in thought, technology, resources, and character.
India today builds its own fighter aircraft, missiles, and satellites in the defense sector. Institutions like ISRO and DRDO are conducting world-class research in science and technology. Campaigns like Digital India, Startup India, and Make in India are not just making India an economic power, but also a nation brimming with confidence. This confidence arises from self-discipline.
Prime Minister Modi mentioned India’s rise as a force in semiconductor manufacturing and announced that by the end of this year, a Made in India chip will be ready. Six semiconductor units are under development in the country. Modi also targeted the dominance of the U.S. dollar, saying that self-reliance is not just about imports, exports, rupees, pounds, or dollars. With this, he gave a clear reply to U.S. President Donald Trump, asserting that India will not compromise on the interests of its farmers and dairy producers. Any policy that threatens the interests of Indians will be firmly opposed by Modi. His message to Trump was clear—India will not compromise on tariffs.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said that without self-reliance, such a major decision could not have been taken. Warning Pakistan, he declared that any further misadventure would be met with a fitting response, and India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail.
To strengthen the nation’s defense forces, he announced the Sudarshan Chakra Project. This project, he said, would not only protect India but also have the capability to destroy enemies. Giving the slogan “Low price, more power”, he asserted that India would now be known for affordable and high-quality products.
In his address, he also referred to the 100-year journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), calling it the world’s largest NGO. He discussed measures taken to counter illegal infiltration, Naxalism, and unemployment, along with the announcement of new schemes. He launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana to provide employment to 30 million youth.
He further announced GST reforms, assuring citizens that tax rates would be reduced to make goods cheaper. Many groups, especially business owners and entrepreneurs, had been demanding a review of GST rates to make them more rational. Lower GST rates, he said, would provide relief to the common people. He also called for making the slogan Vocal for Local a mass movement and urged citizens to adopt indigenous products.
Highlighting achievements in space and defense, he stated that Made in India fighter jets are now being built and that India is working towards establishing its own space station. Calling upon citizens for hard work, he recited:
“The one who has endured toil,
Is the one who has created history.
The one who shattered iron rocks,
Is the one who changed the course of time.”
Prime Minister Modi has given Indians a mantra for success. Now, it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to fulfilling the resolve of building a developed India.
