Operation Sindoor: India’s Decisive Strike and the Power of Strategic Will
"Lahraaya kesariya rang jab seema ke us paar
Badhe hamaare veer jawaan, liye hriday mein angaar
Naam rakha jo mission ka - Operation Sindoor
Shaurya, balidaan aur prem ka bana wo dastoor
Sindoor prateek hai veerta aur tyaag ka
Sindoor paryaay hai prem aur balidaan ka
Jab desh pukaare beton ko tab maange sooni ho jaati hain
Par kadam rukte nahin jab ran Chandi chadh jaati hai"
Richa Sharma's lines honor the bravery of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor. At a program in Bengaluru, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh highlighted various aspects of Operation Sindoor. He revealed that during the operation in May, five Pakistani fighter jets and a large aircraft were shot down, and the S-400 system from Russia was pivotal in the conflict with Pakistan. The Air Force Chief credited the operation's success to the Central Government's political will, noting that the armed forces faced no restrictions or pressure and had full freedom to plan and execute. He also praised the decision to implement a ceasefire. The nation takes pride in the Indian Army, which has consistently responded effectively to Pakistani attacks. Operation Sindoor was a remarkable event, showcasing India's strength and teaching a lesson to those behind the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had even said that it was not blood but hot vermilion flowing in his veins. Those who had set out to erase the vermilion have been mingled with the soil. The enemy has seen what the consequences are when vermilion becomes gunpowder. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also exposed Pakistan's propaganda and gave the example of chess to explain Operation Sindoor. The General said that we did not know what the enemy's next move would be and what we were going to do next. We were making chess moves. At some places we were checkmating them and at other places we were moving ahead by risking our lives. The Indian Army countered Pakistan's strategy in its own way. India's strategic message was very important and that message was justice.
Three months after Operation Sindoor, Air Force Chief Air Marshal AP Singh praising Russia's S-400 missile system has a meaning of its own. He not only answered the questions raised by the opposition parties, but through his statement India has sent a message to the world including America. America has imposed a 50 percent tariff on India for buying weapons and oil from Russia. At such a time, not only trusting Russia's S-400 shield, but also praising it, India's clear message is that its relations with Russia are very strong. Russia is our tested friend. Be it war or peacetime, Russia has always stood with India.
The S-400 defense missile system has been made by Russia and it can shoot down its target from surface to air. It can shoot down any target (aircraft, UAV, ballistic and cruise missile) at a distance of 400 km and up to a height of 30 km. The S-400 missile system can track 100 targets simultaneously and can target 6 targets simultaneously.
India has always trusted strategic partners like Russia. Amid Trump's tariff pressure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also held talks with Russian President Putin and a day before that, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met the Russian President. Military theorists say that military strategy should always be underlined with broader political goals. If we look at their theories in today's era, military operations are full of uncertainty, that is, nothing can be said with certainty about what goal they are started to achieve and what are their results. The way an army works and what steps it takes to achieve its objectives, what strategy it adopts, its success or failure on and off the battlefield is judged on that basis. If we look at Operation Sindoor, which was recently launched by the Indian forces against Pakistan, it was launched against Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the terrorist organizations present on Pakistan's soil, which are the perpetrators of terror. The first objective of Operation Sindoor was to break the backbone of terrorism by targeting the terrorist hideouts and training camps there. In response to this, Pakistan carried out air strikes on India and fired missiles and drones targeting civilian and military targets of India.
Pakistan acted hastily and launched uncoordinated military operations. In retaliation, Indian forces demolished nine airbases, radar systems, and terrorist hideouts within 22 seconds. The Indian Army maintained balance and restraint, warning the enemy that crossing a certain line would lead to Pakistan's destruction. Adhering to war principles, India avoided civilian targets and employed a strategy that left Pakistan unable to respond effectively. The Indian Army set a new standard, demonstrating its capability to combat cross-border terrorism. Through strategic prowess, the Indian Army not only safeguarded itself but also swiftly defeated Pakistan.
