Kiran Chopra: Chaupal to soon host its 200th Program; PM Modi to inspire the nation
Chaupal is a social initiative that has liberated numerous women from the grip of moneylenders. This organization has helped empower diligent families by providing them with some assistance. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta made these remarks on Saturday during the 153rd Chaupal event. At this event, organized by Seva Bharti Delhi and Swadeshi Jagran Foundation at Dada Devta Temple, cheques of 25 thousand each were distributed to 101 women.
On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said that it is very important to mention Bholanath Vij, Madandas Devi and Kedarnath Sahni in the Chaupal program because it was due to their efforts that this social movement started in 2010, progressed and is now running. He said that such families who have the passion to work but do not have the capital to invest, used to get trapped in the trap of moneylenders by taking loans from them and used to pay more money than the principal as interest, but through Chaupal, thousands of such families have been benefited so far.
On the other hand, Kiran Chopra, the CMD of Punjab Kesari, Chairperson of the Senior Citizen Kesari Club, and Chief Patron of Chaupal, stated that helping someone progress is the highest form of worship, which is exactly what our Chaupal is doing. Those who support Chaupal are blessed by God. She mentioned that Vijendra Gupta, Tilakram Gupta, Rajkumar Bhatia, and Vikas Sethi are prime examples of this. She said that through Chaupal, we are all working together to make women self-reliant. Chaupal is such a platform which is working to take women forward by making them stand on their feet. Many women have done big work by starting small work from Chaupal. The women who have received 25 thousand rupees today, should show such work from it so that next time they get 30 thousand rupees.
On this occasion, he praised Ravi Bansal, a member of the Chaupal Board of Directors, and said that Chaupal will soon have its 200th program, in which PM Narendra Modi will be present and encourage all of us. During this, MP Praveen Khandelwal also praised the efforts of Chaupal. He said that till now 45 thousand sisters have been given interest-free loans, whose repayment is about 98 percent. He said that programs like Chaupal should be organized in the entire country including Delhi-NCR. MLA Tilakram Gupta said that if the moneylender gives Rs 1000 as loan, then he recovers up to Rs 1200 in a day, but the Chaupal initiative started with the efforts of Bholanath Vij, Madandas Devi and Kedarnath Sahni, whose small loan has given great support to our mothers and sisters. Also, the repayment of this small loan is also 100 percent. MLA Rajkumar Bhatia said that it is very important to understand the elements of this small loan. A woman opened a beauty parlor with 20 thousand rupees, which employed two more women.
One of these women started her own business by taking a small loan from Chaupal and gave work to other women. This process of women empowerment continued to move forward. He said that people should contribute to social work by giving 10 percent of their income to Chaupal. MLA Poonam Bhardwaj said that service to man is service to God, helping someone is a big thing. He wished the women that whatever work you start, you should get success in it. Chaupal has started a big initiative of women empowerment, this process should continue. Ravi Basnal said that the next program of Chaupal will be organized on July 26 in the memory of Madan Das Devi, in which 200 women will be given small loans. BJP leader and organizer of the program Sanjay Sharma said that this is a big example of women empowerment. Everyone should become a part of it. Former corporation councilor Manju Sharma expressed her gratitude and reiterated the need to make Chaupal a mass movement.
