Offense as Defense: Israel and India's Strategy

Published on

It's not an Israel versus Iran war. What the outcome of this war will be is not even a question. The biggest question is whether every country has the right to protect itself or not, then our answer is yes. Israel has every right to defend itself. This applies to the whole world. As discussions are going on about the dangerous consequences of the Israel-Iran war and its effects, it is also worth mentioning India, which is emerging as a major power on the world map. Fulfilling the mantra and duty of protecting its country and citizens, India has registered a big victory over Pakistan through Operation Sindoor in the past. India and Israel have similarities in their security. It is a matter of self-defence which is considered a big goodwill. It has been the policy of these two countries to take everyone along and India is very liberal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised PM Modi for his stand on self-defense. It is true that during their respective days of struggle, many countries, especially their neighbours, have found their place. China, Pakistan were India's neighbours but remained enemies. Each time, India taught them a lesson. More or less the same situation was with Israel, which was born as a country in 1948, then India became independent in 1947 and since then India's flag has a special identity on the world map. Overall, the same fact applies to India and Israel, whose essence is 'Offence is the best defense' i.e. aggression is the biggest security and it can be linked with self-defense, on the basis of which the pride of Israel and India is intact.

Israel and Iran have attacked each other in the past week. This war is still going on and there are constant attacks on each other's bases. Once again, the Middle East is burning in the fire of war. Israel is fighting a battle for its credibility and in view of this war, today it is reminiscent of the war that took place in the Middle East 58 years ago when the lone Israeli army chewed the Arab countries for six days. Then the war was changed in the map of the Middle East and it was named Six Day War.

In fact, the foundations of this war were laid in 1948, when Israel emerged on the world map. The Arab countries did not accept the idea of another country being created. What was just then, six countries had waged war against a single Israel and Israel in return fought all the better and watered down the good ones. Not only did thousands of people die in this first war of Israel, but millions of Palestinians were also made homeless. In June 1967, Israel went to war with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan. This war lasted for six days and its results were historic. After the victory over six Arab countries in six days, Israel emerged as a major power. It was a matter of self-defense.

In 2023, Hamas killed 1,200 people, including 360 youth, in an Israeli attack at a music festival. Hamas took people captive there and Iran also avenged this attack on the Gaza Strip. That is to say, Israel is very determined in the matter of self-defense and whoever attacks it, it responds with full force and emerges victorious. Politically, the relationship between India and Israel is strong and Prime Minister Modi has a big role in it, who not only meets Prime Minister Netanyahu from time to time but also discusses the Gulf. In 1998, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was the Prime Minister of self-defence, gave a befitting reply to the opposition during the debate in Parliament which was criticizing our Pokhran nuclear tests. Three nuclear bombs were successfully tested in Pokhran on May 11, 1998.

Vajpayee had then said that we have given a message to the whole world that today's India has changed. He wants to see eye to eye and hand in hand with the world and don't scare us with any restrictions. "For self-defence, we conducted nuclear tests. Vajpayee had said that preparations for self-defense will be done only when there is a threat, preparations should be made in advance so that the impending danger is removed. The threat will not materialize, so we have conducted a nuclear test. No one had an answer to Vajpayee's argument. In this episode, Prime Minister Modi's stand has also emerged strongly in the whole world when he said about Pakistan that we do not tease the enemy but we do not leave those who tease us. PM Modi is considered as a spokesperson on the world map and our relationship with Israel is strong. PM Modi maintains relations with all the powerful nations, whether it is America, Russia or France or Britain, Germany or China and Australia. The answer to the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in the Galvan Valley was given to China only with Modi's strong stand.

During the war with Pakistan in the past, it was the S-400 defense system of self-defense, which destroyed dozens of missiles of Pakistan. On the lines of the S-400 defense system taken years ago, the preparation that our army has is based on self-defense. Self-defence is possible only when there is an attack. Anyway, it has been rightly said in Ramcharitmanas – Bin fear hota na preeti, about which everyone knows.
