VNKC: A Pillar of Up-keeping Elderly Person's Self Esteem

Published on:

In society, especially in families, when the elders of the house start getting old, they are insulted and despised by those who are their own. When Ashwini Kumar Minna shared this pain of his loved ones with his wife Kiran Chopra, he told Kiran Chopra that protecting the honor and self-respect of the elderly is not only a moral responsibility but a religion which you have to follow. Then in 2003, the Senior Citizen Kesari Club was established in a closed room and today it has more than 25 branches in the country and abroad. Its theme was 'Feet ki Dhool Nahi Mathe Ki Shaan' i.e. elders should not be considered as the dust of footsteps, they are the pride and respect of our foreheads. Senior Citizen Kesari Club not only provides pension to the elderly but also arranges for the treatment of their various diseases. In order to keep the elderly happy, various competitions including antakshari, mono acting, dance and fashion parades were organized in the country and abroad. Kiran Chopra became the architect of this inspiring campaign. She is duly the Chairman of the Senior Citizen Kesari Club.
