Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is counted among those senior politicians who are known to be adept at making serious and succinct comments in very simple words. Therefore, his statement that at the time of any crisis, the people of India, forgetting their religion etc., raise their voice in one voice and show social unity, is completely appropriate and timely. The history of independent India is witness that whenever any external crisis deepens on India, all Hindus and Muslims of the country stand in one voice in defense of the nation and start calling upon the enemy to teach a suitable lesson. The basic responsibility of the Defence Minister is to protect the borders of the country and the dedication that Shri Singh displays in this task is an open book in front of every Indian.
An all-party meeting was chaired by Shri Rajnath Singh to discuss the problem arising out of the Pahalgam incident. In this meeting, the entire Opposition had joined the Government and it had forgotten its ideological differences with the ruling party and said that at such a time, all those parties are with the Government of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and authorize that whatever decision is taken about Pakistan will be considered to be included in it. This is proof that whenever there is an external crisis in India, the political parties of the country also forget their differences.
It happened during the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan and also during the 1962 China war. Even during the Kargil war of 1999, it was not a full-fledged war because India's brave fighters had vacated their own land from Pakistan. At that time, Pakistani soldiers had entered the Indian border from the hills of Kargil. At that time, the country's defense minister was socialist leader Late. George Fernandes was there. The Shri Amarnath Yatra, which begins in June, is carried out by Hindu pilgrims as well as those working as labourers or mule riders, all of whom are Muslims. This is the cultural nationalism of India in which all Hindus and Muslims move together and work for each other. These Muslim Kashmiri citizens put their lives on the line to save tourists from being targeted by terrorists in Pulwama. Whose stories we are reading in the newspapers nowadays. Rajnath Singh is considered to be a leader who understands the soil of India and knows what the people of India are going through at this time.
Whereas the intention of the terrorists was to dig a deep gap between Hindus and Muslims within India by carrying out the Pulwama incident. But how naïve is Pakistan which does not understand that there are more Muslims in India than it is. They also produce Brigadier Usman and Havildar Abdul Hamid to give a befitting reply to Pakistan according to the time. If Pakistan thinks that it can trick Indian Muslims in the name of Islam, then it will have to read the message emanating from the Pulwama incident itself, which has united Hindus and Muslims. The Indian spirit is that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir became a part of it in October 1947. Rajnath Singh's statement confirms this and gives a message to the people of India that their religion may be different, but they are Indians first and foremost and their common land is India.
Our forefathers have done this work very neatly, due to which India was declared a country of territorial state while Pakistan was formed under religious philosophy. Therefore, if the terrorists killed the tourists by asking their religion, then their intentions can be guessed. Rajnath Singh's warning to a spoiled neighbour like Pakistan should also be understood that whenever India teaches Pakistan a lesson, it will also have the consent of its more than 300 million Muslim citizens. That is why Pakistan should desist from its cowardly exploits because at the time of any crisis, all Hindus and Muslims of India become Indians only. Their identity then becomes the identity of an Indian citizen. Defence Chief General Anil Chauhan met Shri Rajnath Singh yesterday and discussed the issue of national security. Of course, the details of this meeting cannot be made public as it is about the security of the country, but it can be said that Pakistan can be taught a lesson whenever it wants.
