Pakistan will get Befitting reply

Published on:

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday gave a clear message to the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and Pakistan that India will identify every terrorist and his supporters, wherever they are, and they will be punished in a way they could not have imagined. The Prime Minister's statement that the time has come to destroy the remaining ground of terrorism is significant. The Prime Minister's clear reference was towards Pakistan Occupied Kashmir i.e. PoK. India has received tremendous diplomatic support after the Pahalgam attack as the world leaders have reacted strongly. The nation is fully united at this time. All political parties are speaking in one voice and all parties including Congress have given their support to every action being taken by the government. The Pahalgam massacre has shaken the conscience of the country and the world. Attacking innocent civilians without any warning, their identity being identified by the attackers on the basis of religion before they are shot to death is mind-numbing. This shows a new level of meanness in the history of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

India is at its peak this time. Whatever steps have been taken on Pakistan, there is a clear explanation that water cannot flow with blood. India's position has been that terror and talks cannot go together. Similarly, water cannot be shared under the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, which has become terrorism. For the first time since the massacre, there have been vocal reactions against terrorism in the valley. Political and social organisations in the valley as well as common people condemned the attack to send a message that they have no sympathy with militants. Not only Pahalgam, people associated with the tourism industry and laborers in the whole of Kashmir are also angry. The countrymen will also have to see that Kashmiri pony owner Adil Hussain Shah lost his life trying to save the lives of tourists. A video of another pony man has gone viral in which he risked his life and carried the injured tourist on his back. The entire Kashmiri people should not be held accountable for a cowardly terrorist attack. There are reports all over the country that people are misbehaving with people of Kashmiri origin. Kashmiri people are terrified that they may not have to face the wrath of the countrymen. This time is very challenging. In this hour of national calamity, it is important for Indians to avoid internal divisions. The most effective counter to cross-border terrorism is India's unity. Therefore, retaliation should be in moderation.

Pakistan is in complete fear at this time and is engaged in giving hollow threats to India. He has threatened to treat the diversion of the Indus river as a war and has said that he will suspend the Shimla Agreement. Perhaps the rulers of Pakistan forgot how the then Pakistan Prime Minister Bhutto had appeared in front of Indira Gandhi in Shimla to free his 90,000 soldiers. It is wrong to think that the agreement signed by Bhutto will be respected for the country which hanged Bhutto and one of the other charges leveled against him was that Bhutto had hurt Pakistan's self-respect in front of India. India is also not fond of carrying the dead body of the Shimla Agreement. To date, he has not honored this agreement. There are terrorist training camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, which from time to time infiltrate into India and shed the blood of innocents. The whole world knows the truth about Pakistan but it will never accept it. Pakistan's economic condition is so bad at this time that it will not be able to withstand even a small confrontation and will be shattered, let alone war.

The nation wants a thunderbolt strike on Pakistan. India will have to take more steps to crack down on Pakistan. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has informed more than 20 friendly countries about the attack and took them into confidence. India has already succeeded in isolating Pakistan. It is in conflict with Afghanistan. The US, Western countries and West Asia have also shunned it. In such a situation, Indians are waiting for a fierce attack on Pakistan. The Modi government should once again go across the border and attack not only the bases of the terrorists but also the bases of the Pakistani army and make them handicapped. The people of the country hope that the Narendra Modi government will take a decision at an appropriate time.
