Delhi News: CM Rekha Gupta on Friday issued strict directions to officials of all departments regarding the ongoing development works in Delhi during a high-level meeting held at the Delhi Secretariat.
The Chief Minister made it clear that there would be neither any shortage of budget for the capital’s development works nor any tolerance for laxity in execution. She directed all department heads to complete tender-related processes by the end of March and ensure that development works are completed before the monsoon season.
The review meeting focused on development works being carried out under the Chief Minister Development Fund, Delhi Village Development Board and Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board.
The meeting was attended by DVDB Chairman Rajkumar Chauhan, TYADB Chairman Arvinder Singh Lovely and other senior officials.
Delhi News: ₹3,786 Crore Development Projects Approved
The Chief Minister emphasised that the pace of development must be clearly visible on the ground. She informed that development projects worth approximately ₹3,786 crore have been approved so far under these three departments.
She said that the proper utilisation of budgetary funds for development works remains one of the key priorities of the Delhi Government. Officials were also directed to begin development processes promptly at the start of the new financial year so that projects are completed within the stipulated timeline.
3,812 Development Projects Approved Under CMDF
The Chief Minister informed that the government has approved a large number of projects under the Chief Minister Development Fund to strengthen basic infrastructure and accelerate development at the local level.
So far, 3,812 development projects have received administrative approval under the scheme with a total estimated cost of ₹1,798.85 crore.

These works are being implemented through several government agencies including:

Municipal Corporation of Delhi

Delhi Jal Board

Public Works Department

Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation

Irrigation and Flood Control Department

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited
Among these agencies, the highest number of projects are being executed through the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
₹1,557 Crore Allocated for Village Development
After the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Delhi Government is continuously taking concrete steps for the holistic development of villages.
Under the Delhi Village Development Board, 707 development projects have been approved in rural areas with an expenditure of approximately ₹1,557 crore.

The Chief Minister stated that these projects aim to strengthen infrastructure in villages and improve the living standards of residents.
799 Development Works in Trans-Yamuna Area
The Chief Minister also informed that 799 development projects have been approved under the Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board with an estimated expenditure of ₹430 crore.

The Chief Minister directed all departments and agencies to work in close coordination and expedite the completion of pending documentation and tender processes to ensure faster progress of development works across the capital.
