Delhi LG grievance portal: In a significant move forward in the direction of proactive and direct interface with people, Delhi LG, TS Sandhu has asked, the Capital’s residents to share their grievances directly with him and the LG Secretariat. Sandhu, who has been focussing on unstructured and impromptu interaction with the people, in person during visits to various locations in the city, as also on his social media accounts for the past one month, has posted on “X”, “Residents of Delhi are encouraged to share their grievances through the LG Listening Post Platform”.
With his professed goal of making governance citizen-centric, the LG has written, “your voice matters, and we are committed to listening with sensitivity and responding with care”.
A dedicated Cell under a senior officer in the LG Secretariat has been put in place to handle and dispose the grievances posted by people on the above-mentioned platforms.
After helping address many a grievances concerning MCD, DDA and DSSSB, etc. that were brought to his notice by various individuals and groups on social media platforms, and during his interactions, over the past few weeks, the LG has asked the residents to, “submit your concerns through the official website, mobile app or via email for timely and appropriate redressal”, in a post from his official “X” handle.
With this, the almost moribund “LG Listening Post” App, which was launched during the tenure of former LG, Tejendra Khanna, in the year 2007, is expected to get functional and effective in addressing issues facing the people of Delhi. To this end, the LG has also directed for the App to be upgraded as per latest Android versions.
Official said, that despite many a grievances and complaints being frivolous, false and vested agenda’s driven, there were many that were genuine and could be addressed immediately to the complainant’s satisfaction. Many such complaints, though posted by individuals, represented large number of people and localities and their redressal would amount to solving long-standing problems affecting the people and hitherto lying unattended due to apathy.
