Rekha Gupta inaugurated a host of cutting-edge facilities across the city, signaling a bold commitment to modernizing government schools. Delhi Education Reforms: Bridging the Gap Between Government and Private Schools
The Chief Minister emphasized her vision of making government schools equal to—or even surpass—private schools in infrastructure and quality of education. Through innovative public-private partnerships with organizations like the Ladli Foundation, the government is adding 101 new computer labs housing over 2,000 computers, giving students access to the latest digital tools for learning.
Minister Ashish Sood stresses substance over publicity
Education Minister Ashish Sood stressed substance over publicity, focusing on tangible improvements inside classrooms rather than media campaigns. In a massive initiative, 7,000 smart blackboards are being installed across 21,000 classrooms, ensuring students receive modern, interactive instruction at their fingertips.
These developments are already showing remarkable impact. Student-teacher ratios are being significantly reduced, for example from 55:1 to 40:1, ensuring more personalized attention for every child. Furthermore, CSR-funded labs are enhancing teacher training, giving educators the tools they need to deliver world-class education.
DIET Building: A Hub for Teacher Development
The new DIET building at Dilshad Garden, spanning 36 rooms with multiple specialized laboratories, is designed to become a hub of innovation and professional growth for teachers, supporting capacity building across the city’s education system.
With these transformative steps, Delhi’s government schools are no longer just places of learning—they are rapidly becoming centers of excellence that rival the best private institutions, heralding a new era of education for the city’s youth.
