Stock Market Today 21 Oct: The Indian stock market showered investors with wealth on Diwali, and today, for the first time in decades, the Diwali Muhurat trading timings, one of the most important events in the Indian stock market, will be changed. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will hold a special trading session this afternoon, between 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm, instead of the usual evening timings. This marks the beginning of the new Hindu financial year, Samvat 2082.

As per the schedule, the pre-open session will begin at 1:30 pm on both NSE and BSE, followed by a one-hour Muhurat trading session. Normal settlement rules will apply to all trades during this period, with delivery and payment obligations being met as on a regular trading day.
