Stock Market Today March 02: The ongoing war between the US, Israel, and Iran has caused panic in global markets. The Indian stock market started the week with a sharp decline. As of 9:28 am, Sensex fell 891 points, or 1.10 percent, to 80,395, and the Nifty fell 268 points, or 1.07 percent, to 24,909. Major broad-cap indices performed in line with benchmark indices, with the Nifty Midcap 100 falling 1.14 percent and the Nifty Smallcap 100 falling 1.35 percent.

All sectoral indices traded in the red, with the Nifty Realty, Oil & Gas, and Auto sectors recording the biggest declines, falling 2.19 percent, 1.81 percent, and 1.35 percent, respectively.

Analysts say risk appetite is likely to remain subdued throughout the session due to rising tensions in the Middle East. Market experts also say aviation stocks may remain under pressure following the suspension of flights on key routes to the UAE, highlighting the immediate operational repercussions of regional instability. Technically, resistance lies in the 25,300-25,350 zone, while immediate support is seen at 25,000-25,050.

In Asian markets, airline stocks fell the most as the airspace closures over the Middle East and airport shutdowns spread volatility to travel markets. China’s Shanghai index remained stable, while Shenzhen fell 0.75 percent, Japan’s Nikkei dropped 1.5 percent, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell a massive 1.68 percent. South Korea’s Kospi fell 1 percent.
